An anatomically oriented, deep pressure-point technique used to relieve pain and increase mobility. The trigger point model states that unexplained pain frequently radiates from these points of local tenderness (muscle knots, nodules, hyper-irritable areas) to broader areas; sometimes distant from the trigger point itself. Therapists will work based on neuromuscular stress points, identified reliable referred pain patterns that associate with pain in one location with trigger points elsewhere, uses deep digital pressure sustained for 5-30 seconds incorporates with myomassage and passive stretching techniques to release myofascial pain and dysfunction.   Performed on a massage table with clients fully dressed comfortable, loose fitting clothing is required.
